Description
Dated from the 18th century, a French Louis the 14th period cast iron fireback decorated by the scene of sharing Achilles weapons'. When Achilles was killed by Paris, Ajax and Ulysses saved his body and disputed his weapons to the princes. Ulysses won, thanks to his eloquence. (The sharing of Achilles weapons - Death of Achilles - Odyssey, Chapter XXIV, v. 36).
Minor retoration to the bottom.
