Nicknamed « l’as des as » aviator of the French Air Force. He is one of the famous World War 1 pilots.
Born in Paris in 1864, he was narrowly accepted by the French army, who was reluctant because of his weak state of health. He nevertheless quickly integrated in the famous MS.3 « des Cigognes » squadron where he stayed throughout his career. He received the « Legion d’Honneur » when he was 21. He won 53 victories. In 1917, his last fight cost him his life.
