Description
Dating from the 18th century, cast iron fireplace plate.
A buffoon armed with an arrow is placed in the middle part of the plate. He is sitting near a chimera. A decoration of plants intertwining surrounds the character.
This plate is similar to that published in CARPENTIER H., Fireplaces, Volume I, F. DE NOBELE, Paris, 1967, p. 144, No. 322 (Hotel Mégret de Serilly in Paris).
