DESCRIPTION :
A French Louis the 16th style white Carrara marble fireplace dated 19th century. The lintel decorated with a median cartouche represents a pan flute flanked with flowers and branches of laurels finely carved : the rib of the leaves and the relief of the branches reflects a naturalistic taste very appreciated under Louis 16. A frieze of pearls frames this decoration. The console jambs, surmounted by rosettes, present a decor of windings, acanthus leaves and pearl friezes continuing to the feet.
