DESCRIPTION :
Dated Ca. 1940, pair of beige granite male leopards. Their powerful aspect is accentuated by their finesse, their well-defined muscles but also by the fact that they are walking, almost as if they had already spotted their prey.

Attributed to the sculptor Eugene Antoine Borga (1872 - 1926?) who is known to be an animal sculptor. His most famous work represents a lioness with these two lion cubs, commanded by the city of Cannes, which is Boulevard de la Croisette. Some of these works are also found at the Brooklyn Museum and at the Fine Arts Museum of Paris.
